A business meeting held with SOCAR and BP
After the guests had been informed about the safety measures and production capabilities of the STP, it was noted that the potential of the production sites created at the Sumgait Technologies Park, which have been operating since 2009, is a clear example of the development of the non-oil sector of the Azerbaijani economy. Within a short period of time, the enterprise has successfully participated in numerous projects implemented by SOCAR and BP in the region, and has become one of the main suppliers of these companies.
Then, to familiarize themselves with the production process, the SOCAR and BP delegations visited the Precision Processing Plant, Cable Plant, Heavy Engineering Plant and Metal Construction Plant. The questions on products and equipment that they were interested in were answered.
Guests were particularly interested in the project for the production of pressure tanks and heat exchangers used in the oil and gas industry, which STP will soon produce with the South Korean company Seoul Machinery. It was noted that in the coming days, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) will conduct an audit at the institution, and after obtaining accreditation in accordance with the ASME VIII standard, the production of a wide range of products will be launched. As a result, oil and gas companies will no longer import pressure tanks and heat exchangers from abroad, since the STO will be supplying them. The guests were also informed about the company’s plans to launch the production of flanges, which are widely used in this field.
It should be noted that the Sumgait Technologies Park, commissioned by President Ilham Aliyev on December 22, 2009, being the pioneer in the creation of Technologies parks in the region, is a complex of large-scale plants specializing in various fields of production. The STP, which is a unique project in the region, not only fully meets the needs of the domestic market, but it is also capable of exporting enough products to the foreign market. All plants of the Technologies Park are provided with European-based laboratories and accredited in accordance with ISO / IEC 17025-2009 standards. All products are certified. The STP also complies with the international standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
