The Shah Deniz Stage 2 Project will supply gas from the Caspian Sea to the markets of Turkey and Europe and open the Southern Gas Corridor. Shah Deniz Stage 2 or the Project for the Full Development of the Field is a large-scale project that will produce 16 billion cubic meters of gas annually, in addition to the 10 billion cubic meters of gas which were produced annually in the first stage.
Gas from the Shah Deniz field will be transported through Turkey via the Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP), and through the Turkish-Greek border to Italy via the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP). Currently, this is one of the largest projects in the world and the largest BP project.
Most of the work on the construction site and terminal, as well as the construction of the pipeline and the platform, began in 2014 and continued until the end of 2017.
At the request of BP, Sumgayit Technologies Park LLC actively participated in the Shah Deniz 2 Project on galvanizing steel structures and providing various flanges, fittings, and special types of cables.
