General
information

Under normal conditions (T=20 °C, P= 760 mm Hg) oxygen is a colorless, odorless and tasteless gas poorly soluble in water.

In areas with high oxygen concentration (above 23 %), smoking and the use of electric heaters and open flames are prohibited, as these may cause an explosion.

Oxygen is used in metallurgy, metal welding and cutting, as rocket fuel, and in the medical and glass industries.
