The Cable Plant within the Sumgait Technologies Park is one of the largest producers of cable products in the region. At the enterprise which started operating in 2009, production processes are based only on the equipment from European countries, such as Finland, Austria, Germany, Spain and France. For the cable production, STP uses raw materials purchased from leading European companies. Finished products are tested in modern world-class laboratories. The laboratory equipment installed at the plant is used to test low-tension, high-tension and super-tension cables with a voltage of up to 500 kV. The plant involves highly qualified specialists who have extensive relevant experience in the production process. The wide range of cable products manufactured using the cutting-edge technologies, can compete in the domestic and foreign markets.

In 2012, a workshop for the production of various wires of cross-sectional area 1250 mm2 for transmission lines was put into operation (production of overhead transmission wires). In this shop there are a unique 91-wire stranding machine and a double head wire drawing machine with a range of 1.3 - 4.5 mm which has no analogues in the CIS countries. The capacity of this workshop is 80 tons of overhead transmission wires per day. Two vertical lines of 125 m height which have no analogues not only in the CIS countries, but also in the neighboring countries were installed and put into operation to produce high-tension power cables (35-500 kV).

The Cable Plant is the only enterprise in our country that produces fiber-optic cables. The production shop produces communication cables (10, 20, 30, 50, 100, 200, 300, 400 and 600 pairs), fiber optic cables, LAN cables and coaxial cables of various types.

All cables produced at this plant are tested in testing laboratories in accordance with the latest international standards. The laboratory equipment is used to test low-tension, high-tension and super-tension cables with a voltage of up to 500 kV.

The Cable Plant within the STP is well-known for its unmatched levels of cleanliness. Our production lines and processes have passed the relevant audits and quality checks, thus subsequently obtaining the following certificates: ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18000:2007.

In December 2012, the Cable Plant was admitted to the Intercable International Association. To date, the plant has provided all the conditions required for the production of cables that comply with the requirements of the standards for the Azerbaijani AZS, Russian GOST, European VDE, international IEC and Turkish TS.

The Cable Plant has an annual production capacity of 120,000 tons.
